This Cardiac First Responder (CFR) course is recognised by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC). It is a pre-requisite for Emergency First Responder Courses.
Aim: To provide personnel involved in healthcare or frequently exposed to first aid situations with the knowledge and skill to recognise cardiac arrest, perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Training Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Recognise Cardiac Arrest
- Perform CPR 1 & 2 rescuer
- Use Face Masks & Bag Valve Mask (BVM)
- Use an AED
- Recognise Choking and Treatment
- Stroke Assessment (FAST) and Treatment
- Aspirin administration
- Critical Incident Stress Awareness
- Legal Indemnity Issues
Course Duration: Half Day – 4 hours
Participants: Maximum 10
Assessment: Short theory test and practical skills assessment
Certification: All successful candidates will be certified in CPR & AED. Certification is valid for 2 years.
